


2017 SHAB SHAB Project
★Project Overview:
The cooking method used by most of the Swazi population is through burning woods and other dry plant based components. This traditional method of cooking, nevertheless, poses dangers to the everyday lives of the citizens, ranging from accidents with fire to cancer causing components within in the food. Flyoung thus aims to provide a healthier and safer alternative to the traditional method of burning woods for cooking through the introduction of rocket stoves.
Since the summer of 2015, Flyoung has been constructing rocket stoves in Swaziland as part of its mission. In the summer of 2016, Flyoung cooperated with Amitofo Care Centre (ACC), Emmanuel Khayaletu (EMK) and the Challenge Ministry to construct rocket stoves in neighborhood care points. These rocket stoves are consisted of bricks and cement, and each cooperating organization donated a certain amount of material for the construction of rocket stoves.
★Objectives:
The ultimate objective of this project is to serve the Swazi people. Through involving the participation of the community, Flyoung wishes to encourage the sharing of the construction of the rocket stoves. A wilder expectation was to have more and more population of Swazi people utilizing a healthier and more efficient cooking method. At the same time, through the spreading of the knowledge of this project, Flyoung wishes to elevate its image in the world of charities.

Gather community in neighborhood care points. Must have notified community leader/pastor prior the visit to help coordinate the gathering.

During the gathering, Flyoung members will explain the project overview and gather volunteers to help construct the rocket stove.

Pass out manuals and record information about households.

Study the environment and record thoroughly on possible shortcomings of the environment and possible problems.

Invite local media outlets to a gathering and construction, possibly through embassy.

Develop stories and publish as guest writers in local and Taiwanese news outlets
